Small Constructions Vol. 1/B is a practical fabric analysis book designed for textile schools, colleges and universities, as well as textile designers.

The book contains a selection of 30 current menswear fabrics, reflecting the latest fashion directions and the fabric research developed for the Italtex Trends trend books. The selection focuses on providing a direct way to study contemporary qualities, colours, yarns, weave structures and surface characteristics.

Each of the 30 pages includes a numbered fabric swatch that remains attached to the book, creating a permanent fabric archive. A larger piece of the same fabric is supplied separately in an envelope and can be used for detailed analysis.

Each page includes dedicated sections for recording technical information such as the weave, warp and weft yarns, colours and colour combinations, together with other characteristics of the fabric. Millimetre paper is provided for drawing and recording the weave construction.

The book therefore combines a selection of current fashion fabrics with a practical method for examining and documenting their construction. For textile designers, it provides a reference to contemporary menswear fabric directions while also allowing individual qualities to be analysed in detail.
